District darts championship

No balls, just darts…
For the sake of Leader Al, the scouts and Skips ran an evening based around “British Pub Culture” playing games such as pool, jenga, table football and most importantly Darts.
Al was very keen to take up the sport of darts and fancied his chances in the World championships, soon to be played in the UK.
Al has been in some serious physical training to get his body into the prime condition to play darts at World level. On Bahalf of all Scouts and Skips at 3rd Brentwood we wish him good luck in the championship.

SHOCK NEWS!!!

Shock news. Bruce set to resign

After scouts on Thursday Bruce advised the other skips that KPMG had booked him on a course next summer, so there would be no SUMMER CAMP ! Unperturbed Bruce then informed the team that he would be leaving KPMG “nothing gets in the way of summer camp” he advised the team.

The team (notably Sean) tried in vane to talk Bruce out of it, but he was having none of it! “Without Summer Camp there’s no point in summer” he gaily told the astonished skips. He then went on explain that “Summer Camp is far more important than training as a tax accountant and he would have to get a job in Tescos so he had more time to focus on the important things [3rd Brentwood] in life”

So there you are. What impeccable keenness. Dom & Scott please take note!

Celebrating the launch of the new James Bond film, Casino Royale.

A brilliant night was had by all when the 3rd Brentwood scout hut was transformed into MI6 headquarters. All Scout leaders dressed in character as Bond or bond villains. The scouts completed a series of games, competition and stunts to earn points which resulted in one clear winner – Scott Coates.

More phoos from the evening to be posted soon…

Christmas Camp at Thriftwood

Please note the following details of our Xmas Camp, which we haven’t been able to hold this for a couple of years but was always excellent fun.

It will be held on the Saturday 9th December to Sunday 10th December.
We will all camp the single (Saturday night) at Thriftwood during which we will prepare a Xmas dinner on the camp fire using camp fire ovens.

It will cost £15 for the night, but we will also be holding a secret santa. Please buy a £5 gift that is suitable for one of the other scouts and after the meal on the Saturday night we will give these out.

Whilst we will be camping outside we will have the use of the camping hut at thriftwood. We will get the Thriftwood for just after lunch time on the Saturday and will camping in hike tents. We will finish up just after lunch on the Sunday.

If you would like to attend this camp then please bring a cheque/money to scouts and the attached medical form.

Obviously it will be quite cold in December therefore we would recommend a good quality sleeping bag even though you will be hike tents, if you have any questions surrounding any kit please speak to one of us. We would like as many of you as possible to come along to this, so if you have any questions regarding the camp please speak to one of us.
